Islands and Isolation, Darwin Day 2015

February 4th, 2015

In his voyage upon the HMS Beagle, Charles Darwin was able to observe and reflect upon the composition of the plants and animals inhabiting the islands he visited and how that particularity could be explained.  Celebrate Charles Darwin’s birthday (February 12) by exploring the evolution of island flora and fauna.

The Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery and Union South will play host to the JF Crow Institute’s annual Darwin Day program of lectures, films, and hands-on activities, February 12, 2015.

Visit the JF Crow Institute Website to view the schedule of events, speakers and list of teacher resources.  Follow UW-Madison’s Darwin Day on Facebook!

“There is grandeur in this view of life…from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been, and are being, evolved.”–Charles Darwin
