The UW-Madison School of Library and Information Studies (SLIS) is holding a scholarship Fundraising Party for alums, friends, and students on Monday, February 4th– the evening before Library Legislative Day.According to Professor and Director Kristin Eschenfelder, “Changes to student loan laws have made graduate school more expensive than ever.   This past year we saw an increase in the number of students who said they could not attend SLIS because of financial limitations.”

The goal of the “I ♥ SLIS” fundraising party is to raise enough money to offer financial aid to over half the incoming class of SLIS students in 2013, which will help the program to recruit the best applicants.

Alumni, friends, and students who live in the area or plan to be in Madison for Library Legislative Day are encouraged to attend the fundraiser; those further afield can still support the scholarship drive by donating directly (see below).
