Requests for books and entire journal volumes should be made through Place Requests in the Library Catalog.
Please note that journal volumes will be routed to your designated campus library for in-house, short-term use at that location. Articles and Book Chapters are requested by using Interlibrary Loan.
If you are not eligible for Interlibrary Loan, are not affiliated with UW-Madison, please use this request form.
The UW-Madison Libraries will electronically deliver articles and book chapters to registered students or employed faculty/staff of the UW-Madison.
Before you request something, check the Library Catalog or Citation Search. We may already provide immediate access.
We provide book loans and photocopying services to libraries.
Academic, public or special libraries may send either OCLC requests (symbol “GZM”) or webform requests (if OCLC is not an option for your institution). If your institution needs a webform login, please contact us at gzmill@library.wisc.edu.
Several UW-Madison libraries offer for-fee services, including “rush” requests.
UW-Madison campus library visitors may borrow library materials subject to their current residence and affiliation.
Place your book/article requests for UW-Madison materials through your local campus library, corporate library, or public library. Or, contact one of the UW-Madison fee-based document delivery services.
