Back to Finals! We had so much fun with the Retro Photo Booth at this year’s Helen C. House Party that we’re going back in time to create an extra-special week of finals events at College Library.  Although no DeLorean is on hand to whisk us away from finals stress, there are plenty of other events to help us #studystrong. Together with campus partners, College Library brings a little fun into an otherwise anxiety-filled week of exams with the following schedule of events:

Thursday, December 12: Reclaim childhood and go "Back to Square One." Students can enjoy old-school games (Clue, Sorry, and Twister), toys (Pick-up Sticks, Slinkys), and coloring pages in the library. And, it is the final day of online voting for our Retro Photo Contest. [The most liked photo from every retro Facebook album will advance to the next round.] 1st Floor Center.

Friday, December 13: Celebrate the last day of classes with “Caffeine-fueled Time Travel” from Open Book Cafe’! Get free regular coffee, tea or hot chocolate, courtesy of the Wisconsin Union, from 7pm to 2am, and enjoy a simpler, more carefree time.  Room 1250.  Also, voting begins on the final six images in our “Back to Finals - Retro Photo Contest.” Look for the ballot box on 1st Floor Center.  The winning image will join the display of campus images on the library’s 3rd floor.

Saturday, December 14: “Back to the Books” From noon until midnight, GUTS tutors are available on study day to help with all your last-minute tutoring needs. They'll have free coffee and treats for those receiving assistance. Sponsored by ASM and the Division of Student Life.  1st Floor Student Services Area.

Sunday, December 15: “Back to the Bucky” What’s Wisconsin without its favorite badger? Students can dress flat Bucky in their favorite outfit – from band uniform to tuxedo – and then snap a photo with the stylish mascot.  Post a picture on Instagram with the hashtag #studystrong to share your creativity with others!  1st Floor Center.

Monday, December 16: “Back to Beagles (and more)” with a library visit from the therapy canines of Dogs on Call. Re-connect with the childhood joy of playing with puppies from 4-5:30 pm today. Courtyard and 1st Floor Center.

Tuesday, December 17: “Back to Buttons” with College Library’s button-maker. Make your own image or use one of our retro designs.  Create a keepsake to look back on with pride.  1st floor Center.

Wednesday, December 18: “Back to Basics” with free candy at the library's service desks. Sometimes simple things are the most timeless. Get a little boost of sugar (or some Emergen-C) to help you "study strong." While supplies last.

As always, check College Library’s Facebook page, Twitter feed, and Instagram account for the latest info on our finals events.
