- Is every concept of your topic represented in your search statement?
- Comine different key concepts with the word AND.
- Are you getting results that are too old, too new, of the wrong document type (e.g., you want just book reviews or just articles) for your purposes?
- Set limits on the type of results you want to receive.
- Do you want your search words to appear in just the journal title, author name, article title, etc.?
- Use field searching (usually under Advanced Search) to indicate where in a record you want you search words to appear.
