Moving Citations from E-Resource Gateway MetaLib Search into RefWorks

Moving One Citation at a Time


In Metalib

  1. Display MetaLib search results in brief view or full view.
  2. Click on article title.
  3. Click on Save Record icon.
  4. Choose RefWorks in the Record format drop-down menu.
  5. Choose desired option from Encoding drop-down menu.
  6. Click Save button. Note: It may be necessary to enable pop-ups from MetaLib.

In RefWorks

  1. Login to your RefWorks database if you have not already done so.
  2. Your citation(s) will automatically be imported into the Last Imported Folder.
    You may view the records or move them to the folder of your choice.

Moving Multiple Citations


In Metalib

  1. Login to E-Resource Gateway.
  2. Do a search and click on shopping cart icon next to desired records to save them to My eShelf.
  3. Click on My Research and view My eShelf.
  4. Select records you wish to import by checking boxes to the left of citations.
  5. Click Selected link (above word Database).
  6. Click on Save link.
  7. Choose RefWorks in the Record format drop-down menu.
  8. Choose desired option from Encoding drop-down menu.
  9. Click Save button. Note: It may be necessary to enable pop-ups from MetaLib.

In RefWorks

  1. Login to your RefWorks database if you have not already done so.
  2. Your citation(s) will automatically be imported into the Last Imported Folder.
    You may view the records or move them to the folder of your choice.
