Perform a web search for other sites that confirm these events.

By entering "Custom Trim" maquiladoras in the Google search engine, you will find a number of websites related to this case.

screen caputre, Google results for a search of custom trim and maquiladoras.  Among the hits there is a website titled Safety is a Right for All - Jan/Feb 2001 Solidarity sponsored by the United Auto Workers labor union.

Find sites that aren't repeating, word for word, the same article from Sweatshop Watch based on information from the Maquila Solidarity Network. By following the link with the United Auto Workers site ...

In a hearing Dec. 12 in San Antonio, Texas, held by the National Administrative Office (NAO) of the U.S. Department of Labor, the Breed workers told of working with glues and solvents they fear caused birth defects in their children.  Using risk maps, workers from Breed's Custom Trim and Auto Trim maquiladoras in Matamoros and Valle Hermoso, showed NAO officials the location of ergonomic problems, hazardous materials, glues and solvents.

you will find independent verification that Mexican workers at Custom Trim testified about "workplace chemicals and ergonomic trauma before a tribunal" in December of 2000.
