Author: Holloway, Sue; Article:  Unitarian Universalist minister Olivia Holmes is a world-class peacemaker.  But she humbly describes herself as "one struggling human being, in the work of overcoming the need for scapegoats."  The congregations that make up the UU "non-creedal, non-dogmatic faith, " are a fine place to start.  They are people who grew up as Christians, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, Humanists, agnostics, even atheists.  They come together, Holmes points out, "...seeking a spiritually safe home to ask questions in their search for deeper faith."  To serve this diversity, she became a lifelong student of religions and their "teachings about right living, faithfulness, and God, by whatever name or names."  She cites the Buddhist teaching of "mindfulness," for example, as helpful for peacemaking beginning with yourself ...

that Fairfield County Woman refers to a specific county in Connecticut. Indeed, the subject of this article, Reverend Olivia Holmes, was once a resident of Fairfield County.
