Conservation Services
The Conservation Lab performs a broad range of conservation treatments on general and special collections materials. These include paper repair (using Japanese paper), spine repair (rebacking), reattachment of textblock to case (recasing), opening of folds, hand sewing of text blocks, hand-sewn pamphlet binding, construction of envelope boxes, paper washing, aqueous deacidification, and other procedures. All work is done with preservationally sound materials and in accordance with nationally accepted preservation practices.
