Celebrate Bloomsday with the UW-Madison Libraries

MADISON, Wis. – UW-Madison Libraries is co-sponsoring the second annual Bloomsday event as a benefit for the Wisconsin Council of the Blind and Visually Impaired. The festivities, held in celebration of James Joyce's modernist novel Ulysses, are scheduled for Thursday, June 14, from 5-7:30 pm at the Brink Lounge at 701 East Washington Avenue in Madison. Actitivies include Irish music by Birch (Alan Ng and Elizabeth Simcock), raffle prizes to win, food and drink and readings from Ulysses.
Some of this year's readers include author Margaret George, Norman Gilliland of WPR, Barry Levenson of Mustart Museum fame, Citizen Dave Cieslewicz, Vince O'Hern from the Isthmus and Paula Panczenko of Tandem Press.
Tickets are $35 per person or $25 for students. All proceeds benefit the WI Council of the Blind & Visually Impaired.
