National Library Week Activities

MADISON, Wis. - National Library Week (April 9 – 14) is a busy one for the UW–Madison Libraries. Activities include:

  • The Edible Book Festival, held in the Memorial Library fourth floor commons 4:30–6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10. For more information about the festival and to see photos of past entries, click here.

  • Libraries: Sparking Wisconsin Ideas, an exhibit in honor of National Library Week and the Year of the Wisconsin Idea. The exhibit celebrates the myriad ways that the libraries at the University of Wisconsin–Madison support and contribute to the Wisconsin Idea through community outreach and engagement efforts. The exhibit is in the lobby of Memorial Library April 9–May 31.

  • MERIT Library has DIY READ posters in Room 109, Monday–Thursday noon–6 p.m. and Friday noon–5p.m. MERIT Library is located in the Teacher Education Building, 225 N. Mills Street.

  • Ebling Library hosts the 6th annual Health Sciences Student Art exhibit from April 12–May 4. The Opening Reception will be from 4:00-6:00 on Thursday, April 12th. Students from the Schools of Nursing, Pharmacy, Veterinary Medicine, SMPH, Physical Therapy and Physician Assistants have submitted photographs, sketches, paintings, glass, fabric, prints and jewelry for this year’s show.

  • The Friends of the UW–Madison Libraries host their semiannual book sale April 11–14 in Memorial Library Room 116. Preview sale starts at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11. For more information and sale schedule, click here.
