Vice Provost for Libraries, University Librarian position posted

MADISON, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin–Madison Libraries is pleased to announce the position posting for the Vice Provost for Libraries, University Librarian.
The Vice Provost reports to the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and chairs or serves on appropriate academic, technology and administrative committees. The Vice Provost provides leadership for strategic planning, advancement and fundraising, coordination of libraries campus-wide, and policy direction for collections, personnel, public services, technical services, and facilities planning. The Vice Provost must be a collaborative, dynamic leader with a clear vision for developing and implementing strategic plans to sustain and enhance the role of libraries in the intellectual life of the university. Candidates should have a proven record of excellence in academic library administration and clear understanding about how to create, preserve, and deliver library content and services to a diverse audience of faculty, staff and students. Candidates should demonstrate commitment to academic excellence and outstanding service, and possess a vision for excellence in meeting dynamic needs of the university in the 21st century. Candidates must have a vision for respecting and advancing the role of information technology, teaching, learning, and scholarship at a major research university.
