From Earth to the Universe

MADISON, Wis. – An exhibit of astronomical images is on at the Physics and Astronomy libraries through the end of December 2011.

“From Earth to the Universe” is a collection of exceptionally beautiful and fascinating astronomical images. The images, collected in conjunction with the International Year of Astronomy 2009, come from a wide range of sources that includes major research observatories and accomplished local amateurs. One crucial goal of the “From Earth to the Universe” project is to showcase the images in "non-traditional" locations such as public parks, metro stations, art centers, and libraries.

UW’s Space Place, the education and public outreach center of the UW–Madison Astronomy Department, has produced a new traveling exhibit from the collection, which will be open for viewing in the Physics and Astronomy libraries through the end of the semester.
