Go Big Read Author Sonia Nazario Presentation: October 27, 7:00 p.m.

MADISON, Wis. – Sonia Nazario, the author of the 2011 Go Big Read title Enrique’s Journey will give a public presentation Thursday October 27 at 7:00 p.m. in Union South’s Varsity Hall. This event is free and open to all members of the campus and local communities. No tickets or pre-registration is required. Doors to the event will open at 6:00 p.m.
A question-and-answer session will follow Ms. Nazario’s presentation. Due to the large-scale nature of the event, this portion of the evening will be moderated. Anyone may submit a question for the author for consideration. Questions may be submitted to the Go Big Read blog and should be received in writing by October 18, 2011.
Go Big Read is the common book program which reaches students, staff, faculty and community members all over the city of Madison. The program is designed to
- Engage the campus community and beyond in an academically focused reading experience
- Generate vigorous discussions and exchanges of diverse ideas
- Promote connections among students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the wider community
- Tap into and promote the intellectual resources of the campus
- Promote educational initiatives and learning outcomes
- Bridge learning experiences inside and outside the classroom
