Recipients of 2011 Library Staff Services Awards Announced

MADISON, Wis. – The General Library System and the Friends of the UW–Madison Libraries are proud to announce the recipients of the 2011 Library Staff Services Awards. The Awards are given to classified, academic, and student employees who have contributed to the excellence of the Libraries’ services and programs. The awards will be presented at a ceremony on May 11, 2011, 3:00–5:00 p.m. at the University Club. Each permanent staff receives $1,000 and the students receive $250 each.
 
The Library Staff Services Awards were first handed out in 2005 and are a collaborative creation of the Library Management Group and the Librarians Assembly. The criteria is broadly defined to include the performance of work that benefits the internal and external constituencies of the UW–Madison Libraries; assistance to visitors and guests as well as students, faculty, and fellow staff members; innovative and exemplary performance that advances library programs; successful cooperation with other campus agencies; outreach to other libraries, universities, and to the public; and instruction in the use and application of library resources.

The recipients of the 2011 Library Staff Services Award are:

Classified Staff
Debi Doyle, LSA-Advanced
CTS/Cataloging Department/Copy Cataloging Unit

Students
Laura Damon-Moore, Library Administration (graduate student in Library and Information Studies)

Jennifer Huck, Digital Collections Center (graduate student in Library and Information Studies)
  
Thomas Lang, Mills Music Library (graduate student, with doctoral dissertator status, majoring in Music Composition with a doctoral minor in Music Theory)

Jenna Ormson, MERIT Library (graduating senior with a double major in International Studies and Religious Studies)
