Oral History Program Project Examines Sterling Hall Bombing
Posted 08/13/2010
Campus Voices, a series produced by the UW Oral History program, is intended to “capture, present, and preserve some of the strongest historical stories and memories of UW-Madison.” Campus Voices presentations include interview recordings, interview transcripts, podcasts and videos that help document important events in UW history. The first in the Campus Voices series is a collection of materials related to the Teaching Assistants Association (TAA) Strike of 1970.
The upcoming Campus Voices presentation focuses on the Sterling Hall bombing of 1970. A series of interviews (through UW Digital Collections) offers personal perspectives on the incident. Additional materials on the Sterling Hall bombing, including an iTunes album, will be available in the coming weeks. Members of the campus and greater community who are interested in sharing their personal impressions of the Sterling Hall bombing may do so when the Wisconsin Story Project (WSP) sets up their portable video recording studio in the west corridor of Memorial Library, August 23rd – 29th. The WSP will use excerpts of the recordings for a future public presentation, while the UW Libraries will archive the materials for future use.
