MADISON, Wis.--Carrie Kruse has been named College Library’s
new director, a position she assumed Oct. 1. Kruse, a 1991 University
of Wisconsin-Madison graduate from the School of Library and Information
Science, replaces former director Donna Senzig, who retired this summer.
Kruse offers a wealth of knowledge and experience in public services
and library
instruction, serving in those areas throughout her professional career.
She acted as the Library Instruction coordinator at College Library
since 1998 and as the Graduate Project Assistants and Research Interns
supervisor from 2001 to the present. She also worked as a Public Services
Librarian from 1996-1998.
Kruse is a member of several professional organizations, including the
American Library Association, the Wisconsin Library Association and
the Association of College and Research Libraries. She has participated
in several service groups and committees, including the Computerized
Library User Education project as a co-director, the Electronic Library
Access Committee and the Library Education of Electronic Resources Committee.
Kruse has received accolades for her services; she was named the General
Library System 2001 Librarian of the Year. The annual award is given
to two librarians, one with fewer than 10 years of service and one with
more than 10 years of professional experience.
