Friends group seeks books donations

Posted 2/4/2002

MADISON, Wis.-- The Friends of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Libraries is calling for book, CD, and LP record donations to their 14th semiannual book sale to be held March 13-16. Donations are tax deductible.

The Friends expect to collect more than 15,000 books for the fund-raiser. The sale helps support an annual lecture series, special purchases for the library collections, a visiting scholar program, and grants to campus libraries.

The event to be held in 116 Memorial Library, 728 State St., will be open to the public.

Materials may be dropped off in library book returns on campus. Collections may be left at Lake Street dock of Memorial Library weekdays, 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m. To arrange for pick-up, contact the Friends, (608) 265-2505, friends@library.wisc.edu.
