Catalog Upgrade January 7-21, 2000

To resolve some software issues associated with the library catalog, MadCat, the UW-Madison will be reprocessing the entire catalog database and updating our software January 7-21, 2000.

This reprocessing in MadCat will NOT affect other electronic resources. Web pages and other applications and resources will continue to be available.

Although you will be able to use MadCat during that time, Status (Charged, Discharged, Not Charged) and Library Has (journal) statements will not be updated because of the planned upgrade. Other services affected include:

  • no new titles, new reserves, or new journal issues will be added;
  • recalls and renewals will not be available; and
  • only patron name and address will be available.
