Posted 8/7/2006
MADISON -- Memorial Library hosts the UW Libraries Blood Drive Wednesday, Aug. 9, in room 116. To donate blood, simply show up at the blood drive from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
Although no appointments are necessary, those with appointments will be allowed to move through the line faster. To make an appointment, visit www.givelife.org, enter "53706" as the zip code and follow the instructions on the screen.
To reduce waiting time, the number of history stations this year was increased from four to six, and each donor will be given a "donor number" to make sure that the line progresses quickly.
Juice, cookies and fruit donated by the State Street Fruit Stand will be provided.
If new to donating blood or interested in seeing how donated blood is used, visit the American Red Cross Web site and click on "recipient stories."
