Spring FELIX event to feature two poets, March 31
Posted 3/11/2005
MADISON, Wis.-- The spring "FELIX" will
feature readings by poet
Anthony Hawley,
associate fiction editor
of the New York literary magazine Fence,
and Joel Felix, co-editor of the Chicago
poetry journal LVNG.
The reading, sponsored by the Friends of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Libraries, will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 31, in 126 Memorial Library.
The talk is the sixth in a larger series titled “FELIX: A Series of New Writing." In previous discussions, forum participants have analyzed the role of literary magazines online, their role in communities like Madison, and the literary voices of young writers.
Named after Felix Pollak (1909–1987), poet and former curator of Special Collections, this developing reading series invites original, young writers in the area to provide a forum for conversation on the evolution of “little magazines” and their role in literary culture.
