Kalleen Mortensen joins Madison Area Technical College

by Jonathan O'Connell

Staff at the Center for Instructional Materials and Computing (CIMC) recently held a going away party for Librarian Kalleen Mortensen. Mortensen, who has worked in the CIMC since 1989, has long admired the work of librarians.

"I have always loved libraries and reading and spent many hours at the public library as a kid," Mortensen said.

After receiving her master’s degree in library science from the UW-Madison in 1988, Mortensen worked in the Beloit Public Library before coming to the CIMC.

Mortensen is now an associate librarian at Madison Area Technical College (MATC). She says she is looking forward to the challenges of a new environment at MATC, but will miss the CIMC staff, the School of Education faculty and the excitement of the UW campus, especially the outdoor food stands on State Street Mall.
