Guidelines for Library employee art exhibit

"Artistic Collaboration 2007:" to be held February 2-March 29, 2007

All current or retired classified and academic staff of any UW-Madison campus library are eligible to submit their work. Since works will be displayed in glass exhibit cases on the first and (if needed) second floors of Memorial Library, size limitations must be imposed. The guidelines are as follows:

1. Original artwork in the visual arts, including photographs and fine crafts, may be
submitted. Photographs must be artistically composed.

2. No items made from purchased patterns, kits, or molds will be accepted. Works shown previously in "Artistic Collaboration" are not allowed.

3. Each artist may submit up to two items. Please fill out one submission form for each entry.

4. Two-dimensional (framed) artwork must be no larger than 14 inches (width) x 20 inches (height). Textiles will be accepted but may be folded to fit within these guidelines.

5. Stationary three-dimensional artwork must be no larger than 14 inches (width) x 20 inches (height) x 20 inches (depth).

6. Artwork must remain on display for the duration of the exhibit.

7. All items must be in good taste and suitable for display in a public area of the library.

8. Submission forms must be received by stated deadline.

9. Artwork is to be delivered during stated drop-off times unless prior arrangements are made. Deliver your art to Memorial Library (first floor, next to entryway Service Desk) on: Monday, Jan. 29. Drop-off times are 9-10 a.m. and 12-1 p.m.

10. Artwork may be picked up by someone other than the artist only if prior arrangements have been made. Pickup date will be Monday, April 2, with time and exact Memorial Library location to be determined. Participants will be notified once these plans are finalized.

PLEASE FOLLOW THESE GUIDELINES CLOSELY. WORKS NOT MEETING THE GUIDELINES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
