The latest additions to UW Digital Collections
In the past few weeks, Digital Content Group has added many new items to the UW's Digital Collections. The following resources were added:
- More than 2,000 plat maps were added to the Wisconsin Public Land Survey Records. These maps are sketches that correspond to field notes already in the collection. The sketches and field notes were made between 1833 and 1866. Information from these maps became the basis for the Public Land Survey System which determines land ownership and land use. The Wisconsin Board of Commissioners of Public Lands helped with the completion of this project.
Three volumes were added to the Digital Library for the Decorative Arts and Material Culture Collection. Birds of North America by Jacob Studer, The Grammar of Ornament by Owen Jones and Examples of Chinese Ornament, also by Jones.
- Nearly 150 images were added to the Ecology and Natural Resources Collection, including blueprints, drawings and maps of the Kennecott Flambeau Mine.
- Seven issues of Foreign Relations of the United States were added to the collection of the same name. The issues, totaling nearly 6,500 pages, include documents regarding United States foreign relations in 1919 and the Paris Peace Conference. This collection is a digital version of the official historical record of major U.S. foreign policy decisions.
