What a celebration: More than 120 people attended the party, held in Room 212, Memorial Library.

Six of the seven retirees (left to right: Koch, Boston, Hefko, Hill, Senzig and Komai) have compiled more than 150 years of service to the UW-Madison Libraries.

Left to right: Hill, Senzig and Larry Jacobsen, retired head of the Primate Research Center Library. These three were among the original members of the Bibliographic Control Committee, which laid the foundation for the Network Library System, the first online catalog at the UW-Madison.

Retirement party celebrates seven careers

The University of Wisconsin-Madison Libraries celebrated more than 200 cumulative years of service as it said goodbye to seven staff members in June. Computer Operations Director Jeanne Boston, User Services employee Thomas Hefko, Memorial Library Building Manager Dennis Hill and Reserve Acquisitions Head Jim Seals all retired. John Koch and Lois Komai, both senior academic librarians at Steenbock Library and Donna Senzig, head of College Library, completed their tenures as well.
