Aloha! Upcoming Sound Salon celebrates Hawaiian music

What better way to warm up on a brisk October evening than with a little Hawaiian music?

At this upcoming Sound Salon, master of ceremony Henry Sapoznik introduces the rich and beautiful Hawaiian music genre through an interview with Alan Akaka, the former president of the Hawaiian Steel Guitar Association.

Learn about the rich history of Hawaiian music, and hear Akaka perform live traditional as well as new Hawaiian favorites on his steel guitar. Tom Caw from Mills Music Library will also be on hand to talk about Mills and to share some of their Hawaiian music holdings, so you can keep exploring long after the guitars stop playing.
