Women's News Sources and Suggestions How to Search Them
- Aviva Magazine provides monthly
news items from around the world. Try the "international pages"
section.
- Feminist Majority Foundation Online
has feminist news highlights updated daily. Click on "feminist news
and events," then "news archive." On the "global feminist
news " side of the search page, try "work," "employment,"
"poverty," etc.
- International Women's Tribune Centre
Click on "NGO regional" or "WomenAction" and pick a
region. The website includes issues of Women's GlobalNet newsletter.

- NewsWeCanUse links to online
articles from wire services and newpapers. Click on the "international"
link near the top of the page.
- Women's Enews is a project of
the Women, Policy and Media Program of NOW Legal Defense and Education Fund.
The goal is to provide a "professional news service to the public and the
media, policy makers and opinion shapers, covering the news about issues of
importance to women." Click on "archives" at the bottom of the
page, then select "international" from the news category drop-down
menu. Try searching either for "work," "employment," or
"poverty." (Do each as separate searches. The search box can't
understand an "or" search statement.)
- WIN Magazine (Women's
International Net) is a monthly with feature articles on women throughout
the world. Click on "archives," then "subject." Scroll down to
the subject "labor."
- WomensNet has
weekly headline news. Click on "search documents," them select
the box "IGC Site." Put "women" in your search, along
with any of the other search words above.
