This exhibition features our recent publication: Exquisite Horse.
Thirty-two contemporary book artists and letterpress printers race to
the finish in this collaborative exquisite corpse project from the Silver
Buckle Press. As with our 1992 A Printer's Exquisite Corpse publication,
Exquisite Horse combines the efforts of printers from across the USA
Each artist designed and printed one hundred copies of a section (head
or tail) of a quadruped, with the specifications that the parts would
meet in the middle and that letterpress would be used, at least in part,
to execute the print. The result--a la the Surrealists--is a delightful
body of work. Prints are housed in a multi-colored drop-spine box
measuring 16 x 11.75 x 1" when closed, with the inner tray divided
by a wall that separates the head and tail parts. The displayed prints
may be arranged and reconfigured to create hundreds of combinations. X Horse is an exquisite exemplar of contemporary printing! From an edition of one hundred, sixty copies are available at $850.00 each. Ordering information |
