Library Jobs For Students

Who can apply:

Anyone currently enrolled at the UW–Madison. If you will be enrolled in the Fall Semester, you do not need to enroll in the Summer Session to qualify for summer employment.

When to apply:

Most student jobs are available during Fall, Spring, and Summer Semesters. Call the libraries of your choice listed below during normal business hours to find out when to apply. If you get an interview, bring along your class schedule or a list of times you will be free to work.

Qualifications:

Previous library work is helpful but not necessary. Libraries are usually looking for skills in working with people, typing, foreign languages, computers, filing, or audio-visual equipment. You also should have flexible hours and good work habits. Most libraries prefer to hire work study students but welcome applications from all eligible students.

More help:

If you have other work-related questions, such as how to apply for work study, call Student Financial Services 262-3060.
