Plant Description:
A perennial plant reaching 1-2 feet in height and reproducing by seed and underground
rhizomes. Leaves are lance-shaped in design and arranged alternately on the
stem. Flower heads are small and broken into 5-10 white ray flowers. Flowering
occurs during the months of June-August.
Remarks:
Yarrow can be found commonly throughout the state. It often grows in meadows,
pastures, and waste areas. It may be found growing along dikes and ditch edges.
It may also invade new plantings and bare areas of established beds. It is not
a serious weed pest.
