Plant Description:
A perennial reproducing by underground root stocks and seed. Plants stand erect
and reach a height of 1-2 feet. Flowering occurs during the months of July-September.
During flowering periods the stems often extend past the flower clusters.
Remarks:
This species is associated with peat soil types. It may be transferred to new
plantings as stolons along with vine cuttings. This plant often is an invader
of newly established beds and void, wet areas of older beds. It does not seriously
compete with healthy vines.
