Bur Marigold Stick-tight is also an annual plant which may reach a growing height of 1-5 feet. It has a long and narrow stem with opposite, sometimes serrated leaves. The plant has a yellow (Marigold type) flower approximately 1/2-3/4 inch wide which tends to droop as the plant matures. Flowers occur during the months of July-September. Seed is similar to the Devil's Beggartick.
Remarks:
Stick-tights are found commonly in areas of fresh meadows, shallow marshes,
and disturbed wet soils statewide. The plant readily establishes itself in poorly
drained or bare ground areas. It is a very common invader of cranberry beds.
Seed is often introduced by contaminated flood waters during harvest.
