Plant Description:
Solomon's Seal is a perennial plant reaching from 12-36 inches in height. It
reproduces by underground stolons. Plants have an unbranched, arching stem with
alternate, lance-shaped leaves. Beneath the stem, near the leaf axils, hang
greenish bells with 6 short lobes. Fruit is dark blue to black in appearance.
Remarks:
Solomon's Seal is often found in moist woods and wetlands in northern Wisconsin.
It is not a common weed in cranberries. On occasion it may invade a cranberry
bed but not as a serious pest.
