Plant Description:
New England Aster is a perennial plant reaching a height of 2-5 feet. Leaves
are lance shaped, have smooth margins and have no stalks. Ray and disc flowers
are numerous and are violet-white or pink in color. Flowering occurs during
the months of July-September.
Remarks:
New England Aster is common to damp open meadows, moist woods, and marshes throughout
the state. It is an occasional invader of new and established cranberry beds
statewide. Seed is often introduced during planting.
