Plant Description:
A perennial, erect woody shrub that grows from 1-2 feet in height. Leaves are alternate in arrangement. Flowering occurs in July-September. Flowers are pink-purple.

Remarks:
Hardhack is common in wild marsh areas throughout the state. It can be found growing along drainage ditches and in some cranberry beds.
