Plant Description:
Golden Rods are perennial plants growing from 2-6 feet in height. Leaves are
usually lanceolate in shape and may have hairy undersides. Plants reproduce
by underground rootstocks and seeds. Flowers are yellow in color and occur during
the months of July-September.
Remarks:
There are many species of Golden Rod found throughout the state of Wisconsin.
They are found commonly on dikes, roadways, and cranberry beds statewide. They
tend to invade weak vines or bare areas in new or established plantings.
