Plant Description:
Marsh Five-Finger is a low, ground sprawling perennial plant that grows to a
height of 4-24 inches. Leaves are approximately 1-3 inches in length and have
jagged or saw-toothed edges. Leaves are pinnate with 3-7 leaflets. The plant
flowers in June-August. Flowers are red to purple in color.
Remarks:
Marsh Cinquefoil is common in older cranberry marshes and bogs throughout Wisconsin.
In cranberry marshes it can be found along bed edges and drainage ditches. It
prefers peat soils but will establish in moist sandy areas.
