Plant Description:
Dewberry is a low, ground trailing perennial plant that grows to a height of
4-10 inches. It has a spiny stem and can look similar to a raspberry plant.
White flowers appear during the months of May-June. Fruit occurs in mid-late
summer and has a red-black color.
Remarks:
Dewberry is common in marshes and bogs throughout Wisconsin. In cranberry marshes
it is usually found along bed edges and drainage ditches. Dewberry may be introduced
to new plantings as root stock or seed.
