Plant Description:
A woody, deciduous tree reaching a height of 20-60 feet. Leaves are almost circular
and are finely toothed. They have a green appearance above and a silvery appearance
below. Stems are attached to leaves in an almost flattened fashion. Trees grow
very rapidly.
Remarks:
Quaking Aspen is found commonly throughout the state. It often grows along stream
banks and other areas of poorly drained soils. It grows commonly in woodlands
adjacent to cranberry marshes. Airborne seed is introduced into new plantings
and established beds.
