We would also like to thank the Wisconsin Cranberry Board, Inc. for their financial support.

AgNIC

The AgNIC American Cranberry web site is one of many agricultural web sites being developed as part of the AgNIC project. AgNIC (Agriculture Network Information Center) is a "distributed network that provides access toagriculture-related information, subject area experts, and other resources. It was established by an alliance of the National Agricultural Library, land-grant universities, and other organizations committed to facilitating public access to agricultural and related information."

Steenbock

Steenbock Memorial Library serves the educational and research programs of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, among others. As a participant in the AgNIC Alliance, Steenbock is responsible for two topics: the American cranberry (Vaccinium macrocarpon) and dairy.

Objectivity Statement

This web site attempts to provide users with the full range of available information about the American cranberry. Because controversy about cranberry agriculture does exist in the public, this controversy is also reflected in our web site. "Controversy" implies that people on different sides of an argument may all have valid points to make. Our "Environmental Issues" link attempts to provide a place where people can become informed about all of the
issues involved in cranberry agriculture. Throughout the web site, we try to represent the full range of farming alternatives. Steenbock Library would like people of differing opinions to find this web site both informative and objectively presented.

Contents

In developing the American Cranberry web site, we have attempted to gather and arrange high-quality information resources on the WWW under clear subject headings. You will find that our site links to many different types and levels of information. Some links may be to full-text documents covering specific subjects, while others will direct the user to larger browsable resources (such as other WWW sites) to be explored further. Internal navigational links are provided to aid the user in moving around the site.

We hope that you find the American Cranberry Website useful and easy to navigate. We welcome your comments and suggestions on the content and organization of our site. Please send messages to askcranberry@library.wisc.edu.
