Edible Book Festival 2012
The 2012 Edible Book Festival was held Tuesday, April 10th in the UW-Madison Memorial Library Commons. An estimated 175 people attended the event celebrating National Library Week to view, vote, and discuss the fabulous entries entered by members of the library, campus, and local community. Entries this year were made from cake, cupcakes, fondant, bread, veggies, fruit and more! Once again, a festival filled with very creative pieces of edible art, showcasing the hard work of all participants, and highlighting the joy of books in a whole new medium - food!
This years judges were: Orange Schroeder, owner at Orange Tree Imports and Cooking School, a specialty shop in the Monroe Street neighborhood featuring kitchenware, toys, gifts and more; and Nichole Fromm & JonMichael Rasmus, blog authors for Eating in Madison A to Z, "a date-night decision-making tool and dining diary" for restaurants throughout the city.
A big thank you to all who helped make this event happen, including: UW Librarians' Assembly, UW Memorial Lirbary's Public Relations committee, the Edible Book Festival committee, all the festival volunteers, and Copps' Food Store (for donation of cakes for serving). We could not have accomplished such an event without any of you!
