Searching

  1. Select database from the UW-Madison Libraries Web site.
  2. Click in the box to the left of IP ACCESS.
  3. Click START.
  4. Click language ENGLISH (British flag icon) next to database.
  5. Type a word or phrase in the search box.
  6. Click START SEARCH.

Author Searching

  1. Select AUTHOR in EXPERT SEARCH box.
  2. Type in author last name.
  3. Click START SEARCH.
  4. Browse through list of author names using up or down arrow.
  5. Click desired author name.

Journal Searching

To find a specific article:

  1. Select TITLE in EXPERT SEARCH box.
  2. Type in first word of article title.
  3. Click START SEARCH.
  4. Browse through list of article titles using up or down arrow.
  5. Click desired article title.

To browse a specific journal:

  1. Select PERIODICALS in EXPERT SEARCH box.
  2. Type in first word of journal title.
  3. Click START SEARCH.
  4. Browse through list of journal titles using up or down arrow.
  5. Click desired journal title.
  6. Click on CHILDREN tab.
  7. Click desired issue.

Displaying Search Results

  1. Use the up or down arrows to move through records on the page.
  2. Click article title to display the full record.

Selecting Records

  1. Click in the box to the left of any unwanted records to deselect them.
  2. Click DELETE UNCHECKED RECORDS.
