College Awards

January 15, 2015

At the end of the fall semester, three student assistants at College Library received recognition for their efforts on behalf of our patrons. In a tradition dating back to 2006, two “Excellence-in-Services” awards were given out at the end-of-the-semester party to students who embody the best of College Library’s commitment to customer service. Stephanie Washington and Mandy Morrow received this award on Thursday, Dec. 11. Stephanie was recognized for her work in Circulation, with nominators describing her welcoming attitude and how it has a real impact on patrons’ experiences. Mandy, who works in the Computer Lab, was cited for her patience in helping users master unfamiliar technology and willingness to always go the extra mile.

In addition to College’s awards, at a campus-wide event held at the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery on Wednesday, Dec. 10, Cassy Keyport, a second-year SLIS student and one of our five reference student assistants, was acknowledged for her years of dedicated service to College Library. Cassy started working at the circulation desk as an undergraduate and continued working at College in a variety of increasingly-responsible positions through her graduate studies at the School of Library & Information Studies. In addition to staffing the reference desk on Friday and Saturday evenings, Cassy also helped manage the ISIP program for the General Library System.

We would like to thank Stephanie, Mandy, Cassy, and all of our student assistants for their work on behalf of the libraries at UW-Madison.
