Importing Science Direct Records into EndNote

  1. Click in the box to the left of desired records.
  2. Click EXPORT CITATIONS at the top of the screen.
  3. Select RIS FORMAT... from the FILE FORMAT: drop-down menu.
  4. Click EXPORT.
  5. Click SAVE from the FILE DOWNLOAD pop-up window.
  6. Change the SAVE AS TYPE choice to TEXT FILE (*.txt).
  7. Name your file and click SAVE.

In EndNote

  1. Select the Library into which you want to import the citations.
  2. Choose IMPORTfrom the FILE drop down menu.
  3. Click CHOOSE FILE at the IMPORT FILE DATA: box and find the file you just saved from ScienceDirect.
  4. Select SCIENCEDIRECT filter at the IMPORT OPTION: box.
    If you do not see this filter then click on OTHER FILTERS to see the complete list.
  5. Click IMPORT.
