There are two methods for transferring records to EndNote. Use Direct Export when you are using the computer on which EndNote is loaded. When this is not the case you must use the Save or Email feature.

Direct Export

  1. Conduct your search in the desired database.
  2. Click ADD TO FOLDER under each record to be saved.
  3. Click FOLDER VIEW on right to display all records in folder.
  4. Click in the box to the left of each record to be exported.
  5. Click EXPORT.
  6. Click in the circle next to DIRECT EXPORT TO ENDNOTE, PROCITE OR REFERENCE MANAGER.
  7. Click SAVE.
  8. Direct export records will be automatically transferred to the EndNote library of your choice.

Saving records for later importing

  2. Click ADD TO FOLDER under each record to be saved.
  3. Click FOLDER VIEW on right to display all records in folder.
  4. Click in the box to the left of each record to be exported.
  5. Click EXPORT.
  6. Click in thecircle next to GENERIC BIBLIOGRAPHIC MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE.
  7. Select FILE and SAVE AS .
Identify your disk drive and filename plus the extension .txt (plain text) in the File Name Box.
