UW System Libraries
When you are unable to locate an item in MadCat, UW-Madison faculty, staff, and students may try a UW System search to see if another System library owns it. If so, you may request the item be delivered to the campus library of your choice.
- Find the item in a UW System catalog and display its record. Be sure the item is "Not Checked Out".
- Click on Place Requests and if you haven't logged in, enter your NetID or 11-digit ID number and last name.
- Select BORROW from or Pickup at another campus from the dropdown menu.
- Select a lending library where the item is not checked out. Type in your UW-Madison 11-digit ID number if needed.
- Use the drop-down menu to choose a campus library pickup desk. If you do not choose a campus library pickup desk, the item will be delivered to Memorial Library.

If the item is not available through the UW System search, you may want to request it by using Interlibrary Loan services or via WorldCat. Check your library privileges if you have questions about eligibility for these services.
