Library Instruction

A limited number of instruction sessions are offered each semester. The Art Library partners with instructors to develop learning objectives that support course assignments and prioritize student engagement. Our goal is to empower students to acquire and apply information literacy skills not only in the Art Library, but throughout their studies at UW Madison (and beyond).

  • Instruction ranges from general library introductions to focused sessions on mediums, periods, and topics. Information literacy skills are typically connected to a course assignment or project to make material meaningful and relevant to learners.
  • Sessions with up to 20 students can be held in the Kohler Art Library seminar room. Larger classes may meet in the home classroom space.
  • Sessions should be scheduled at least two weeks in advance. Please have alternative dates and times available when making your request

Contact Anna Simon to arrange a session. Please see Instruction Services for more information on instructional support.
