The Silver Buckle Press offers several educational opportunities for individuals and groups. We offer T O U R S of the press during which visitors receive a short history of the development of printing, and hands-on demonstrations of typesetting and printing. The Printer also provides guest lectures for campus and community groups. Guests are invited to visit the Press by appointment.

On an occasional basis the Silver Buckle Press also offers

The SBP has a staff of paid student printers who receive intensive training in letterpress printing and curatorial practices. These students are usually graduate degree candidates in the Department of Art at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. The Press employs two to three students per year, and the training they receive at the Silver Buckle is a significant component of their graduate studies.
